Palmer Joins Al Jazeera: Channel Hopes to Line Up Carriage Deals in U.S. By Elizabeth Guider December 15, 2005 - Variety

Entertainment news journalist Amanda Palmer is joining Al-Jazeera Intl., the soon-to-launch 24-hour English-language news headquartered in Doha, Qatar.

Channel is trying to line up cable carriage deals in the U.S. as well as elsewhere around the globe.

Palmer's career has spanned three continents in news, current affairs and entertainment journalism; she has worked for CNN and AP TV and served as European foreign correspondent for the Seven web in Australia.

Palmer will head the entertainment department at Al-Jazeera Intl., writing and producing entertainment shows, hosting some of them and leading the creative team in covering international entertainment for the network.
